I bought this fabric over a year ago and thought it was about time I put it into good use so I cut out two ideas of a front and back panel and then kind of cut and pinned it until it looked like a dress. I won’t be buying knit fabric again so help me god 💀 but overall happy with my impulsive holiday party dress!

Holiday cookie box season has me thinking about Ana Maria and what kind of cookies she’s be baking to add to her boxes. Definitely her guava cream cheese thumbprint cookies (which is the recipe featured at the back of the book!), and the idea of a boniato molasses crinkle cookie is really speaking to me… boniato is Cuban sweet potato and they are very similar to Japanese sweet potato in that they aren’t as sweet as the typical garnets you see in grocery stores. I think maybe this weekend I might try to make them!

In six months, I’ll be getting married in a beau

In six months, I’ll be getting married in a beautiful, but purely symbolic, wedding. In January we are doing the legal wedding at the courthouse with close friends and family. And I have decided that this past weekend, a month before the date, that I am going to sew the dress myself. I’m also going to design the dress myself. And pattern it myself. Will I survive?????? Not sure! At least I’m not on deadline 💖
